Here’s an interesting video I found on youtube about the exponential growth of information, technology, and population.  It’s a remastered version of a 2006 presentation.  The numbers might be exaggerated (I really don’t know if they are) and it might be a bit dramatic, but it does give  some food for thought.

So what does it all mean?  Is it even possible to stay ahead of the game?  How useful is formalized education anymore if information is so readily available and institutional material is outdated?  How do we continue to compete in North America, especially in terms of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship? What does this mean for our personal and social lives – does it give us more time or less time to have a work-life balance?  And how long is it – any of it – sustainable?  Like I said – food for thought.
