Academic Research Commercialization Support (ARCS)
Looking for support? Whether you’re a student, researcher, or entrepreneur, I can promise you there are a lot more programs available to you across Ontario then you think. But we don’t hear about them enough. As a student, I can a test to that. Finally a central up-to-date database has been created by OCRI with that information right at your fingertips: Academic Research Commercialization Support (ARCS). On ARCS you can find funding opportunities, training opportunities, competitions available in the region, tax reductions, etc., all organized by relevance to a student, researcher and/or entrepreneur.
I don’t know what context William Pollard said this in, but it seems appropriate: “Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision-making, it is a burden, not a benefit.”
ARCS is filled with useful and relevant information that is organized for easy processing. I for one wish ARCS existed years ago, but better late than never. The link for ARCS is: http://www.entrepreneurship.com/arcs.php Hope it’s useful to you. :0)
